Spectre Operations revised edition!

Spectre Operations' first print run has sold out, leading to a revised edition with clearer rules and layout for both new and experienced players.

Drawing on the success of our free Quick Play guide, we've adopted its layout and wording for improved clarity throughout the main rules (You’ll now find the Stress rules much less Stressful!).

The game structure has been adjusted, and some rules have been revised. While the core mechanics remain the same, turns now offer more options with fewer steps.

Key Changes:

  • Escalations: Commanders and Specialists with Long Range Comms can now use an Action to test for available Escalation levels, which are then used in Engagement Actions. This makes Commanders more impactful. The SitRep phase has been removed for smoother turns.

  • Assault: More detailed Assault Actions have been introduced, including a dedicated list of combat weapons. Sidearms can now be used in Assault Actions, increasing the utility of pistols.

  • Action Clarifications: Engagement Actions, Breaching (including Breach and Clear), Capture, and Fire Support Actions have been clarified and tweaked.

  • Snap Shot: Snap Shots can now be taken at any Engagement Range, increasing their lethality.

  • Suppressing: Suppressing Weapons now apply additional Stress in Engagements, making Sniper Rifles more effective for suppression.

  • Grenades: Grenades now have the One Shot rule by default to prevent "Grenade Spam" and encourage more strategic use. (Players are welcome to adjust this for specific scenarios or specialist loadouts.)

  • Vehicles: Rules for Engaging Vehicles, Armour Penetration, and other vehicle-related mechanics have been significantly clarified.
