Out of Time Napoleonic Game
We had a great Skirmish using Out of Time with Perry Miniatures and Wargames Illustrated Recently.
This was played only using the models that you get in the Perry Miniatures Skirmish in a Box (65 French and Spanish, which is a perfect model count for an introductory game of Out of Time).
We played on a 6x4 table, which Alan had set up as a Spanish town.

The French had 2 small Elements of Voltigeurs, who were positioned in the town and 1 other Element of Westphalians - who were transporting a captured Spanish general. The scenario was simple - the French had to reach the church at the end of the table, with the prisoner.
On the Spanish side, we has 1 Element of Militia and 2 Elements of Guerrillas.
The game went smoothly, demonstrating the differences between Spectre Operations and Out of Time - mainly, the new command, formation and momentum generation system. Commanders are able to issue orders to Elements and momentum is generated conditionally, depending on proximity of allies. Regular Elements in Formations benefit from others close by, in formation.

Muskets need to be reloaded between shots, making decisions on using Momentum a little more considered - although with Michaels dice rolls, the ranged combat had little impact!

On the race to the church, the Spanish and French clashed in melee, which ended up becoming a desperate and bloody street fight. This did buy the Westphalians enough time to make it to the church doors - but only by the skin of their teeth!
Check a future issue of Wargames Illustrated for a full write up.

We will be playing another game, with a few more of the special rules and troop types introduced. There were times where cavalry and artillery would have been very welcome...
